5 Worst Credit Repair Scams

Name: Family Credit Counseling Corp.
Rating: 0
Average Investment: $300
Summary: This company is an excellent example of how Business Bureau membership fails to offer consumers a great deal of protection. This company is a member, but nonetheless has accumulated over 526 Business Bureau complaints. Simply by answering the complaints, this company retains its Business Bureau membership. Victims of this credit repair scam attest that they are misled into believing that their credit scores will be quickly brought into the 700-800 range, only to be disappointed a year later when their scores remain unchanged.

Name: Lexington Law
Rating: 0
Initial Investment: $450
Average Return: $0
Summary: They may be Business Bureau members, but Lexington Law has racked up over 100 complaints in a couple of years, not including the additional complaints which a quick search of the internet reveals. Consumers complain about broken promises, phone calls not answered and little change in their credit reports.

Name: Your Credit Attorney
Rating: 0
Average Investment: $300
Summary: Consumers are fooled into believing that just because this credit repair company is run by lawyers that they are to be trusted. The complaints of unhappy clients of this company can be found all over the internet. Our telephone interviews confirm their utter disregard for what their clients are going through. We advise that you stay away from this company.

Name: Credit Repair Counseling
Rating: 0
Average Investment: $420
Summary: This company is not a Business Bureau member and evidently promises much more than it is able to deliver. After giving this company their money, consumers complain of phone calls not returned and credit scores that stay pretty much the same as when they began the process.

Name: The Best Ever Net
Rating: 0
Average Investment: $13
Summary: Although the monetary loss on this how-to-manual is relatively small, hundreds of people have lost thousands of hours of their time following the steps in this worthless downloadable booklet. We advise against wasting either your time or money on this company.
